During the past few years, Saylor Academy has hosted educators from around the world as part of the United States Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). We have hosted professors and school administrators from nations including Israel, Palestine, China, Russia, Algeria, Morocco, Mexico, Finland, Ireland, Congo, Norway, Bolivia and South Korea.

This year, we are pleased to welcome a delegation from Uzbekistan that will include higher education practitioners and policy experts from their Ministry of Public Education.

Our team will meet with the Uzbekistan delegation to exchange ideas and help introduce the U.S. higher education system; examine open education resources and curriculum content; provide an overview of current trends in digital education, including Massive Open Online Courses; and assess how new technologies are democratizing learning opportunities.

We will also explore collaboration between different types of education institutions and the business and philanthropic communities, as well as discuss potential collaborations between U.S. education institutions and institutions in Uzbekistan.

We are honored to be included in the IVLP program and look forward to an interesting exchange of ideas that will promote increased access to quality education around the world.

We will share what we learn! You can get a taste of what IVLP visitors and hosts have been up to here:
