Looking for a pathway to low cost college credit? We’ve got you covered!

This morning, we were excited to announce a brand new partnership with Excelsior College that will allow students to study select courses on Saylor.org (for free, of course!) – and then take an Excelsior College Examination or UExcel Exam that aligns with that course for as little as $95. If the student passes that exam, they can earn three to six college credits with the option of enrolling at Excelsior, a regionally accredited college, or transfer the earned credit to one of 1500+ colleges and universities that recognize credits earned through these proficiency exams.

Excelsior College Examinations and UExcel Exams are taken at any of more than 1,000 PearsonVue secure testing centers around the globe. UExcel Exams have been developed by Excelsior in collaboration with Pearson, the world’s leading education company.

“Excelsior College has done phenomenal work in removing barriers to accredited adult education, a goal similarly shared by our team,” said Alana Harrington, Director of the Saylor Foundation. “This partnership will advance both of our organization’s objectives and will hopefully provide opportunities to learners who otherwise could not afford to continue their pursuit of a postsecondary degree.”
