Come for Bitcoin, stay for our English as a Second Language series!  Self-determined Saylor graduate Andrea from Italy has completed 4 of our courses so far. He was initially interested in our popular Bitcoin for Everybody course, but has since completed 3 of our English as a Second Language courses as well. 

We asked him to recount his experience with Saylor Academy and here’s what he had to say.

Saylor Academy: Hi Andrea! How did you come to know about Saylor Academy and our free courses?

Andrea Colonia: I found out about Saylor Academy while watching a video of Michael Saylor on YouTube, and I said to myself, “Why not, let’s sign up!”

SA: What influenced you to take our courses?

AC: The great choice of courses and the way they were made. They are very complete and detailed.

SA: Once you obtained your first certificate, what inspired you to complete another 3 courses? 

AC:  My sense of self-challenge inspired me. If I had been able to get my first certificate, I could also try to get others.

SA: What has your experience been like with our courses? 

AC: My experience was great. The courses are clear and well explained, full of extra multimedia material such as videos and podcasts. It was really interesting to take these courses.

SA: What are your career goals?

AC: My main goal for my career is to enrich myself as much as possible with new things that can add value to my person as well as to my professional figure. With Saylor Academy, I realized that all this is possible. 

SA: How has what you learned/the skills you obtained through Saylor Academy prepared you to achieve those goals?

AC: This is simple to explain: when I learn new things I feel stronger and more aware of my abilities. All this empowers me with the energy to face my work challenges.

SA: Which course was your favorite and why? 

AC: I have two courses to include among my favorites: the first was the one on Bitcoin because it was one of the most interesting things I’ve ever read. I didn’t know there was so much behind Bitcoin. The second was the ‘Advanced English as a Second Language’ course because it was the most difficult so far, and I found this very inspiring.

SA: Would you recommend Saylor Academy to others? 

AC: Absolutely! I already told my brother and my best friend to sign up!
