Alternative Credit Project

ACE Alternative Credit Project logo Saylor Academy is a proud participant in the Alternative Credit Project™, an effort to assist the over 31 million U.S. adults who are eligible to return to college to complete a degree or credential because they already have completed some college coursework. By taking select online courses with Saylor Academy you can build up credits for general education courses that will transfer directly into participating colleges, saving money and putting you in control of the pace of your studies. As you complete your online courses with Saylor Academy, you’ll build a college transcript with the American Council on Education (ACE), the sponsor of the Alternative Credit Project.

Saylor Academy Course Costs and Format:

Saylor Academy courses are tuition-free, with no fees for learning materials. Fees for required proctored exams are $25 per attempt and transcript fees will also apply (see below).

Saylor Academy courses are self-paced, independent, fully-online courses. Students may begin at any time and take as long as they need to finish. A proctored final exam is required to earn credit recommendation. Learn more about exam proctoring here and more about starting a Saylor Academy course here.

ACP Qualifying Courses:

Courses offered by Saylor Academy that are included in the Alternative Credit Project have undergone ACE’s credit recommendation process and have been granted an ACE CREDIT® recommendation. ACE CREDIT has been recommending college credit for non-classroom learning for over 30 years and ACE’s credit recommendations are considered by over 2,000 colleges and universities across the United States.
