gethiredmiami and Saylor Academy both recognize that displaced workers and others seeking employment need flexible and low-cost education options to balance skill development with life and family demands. Saylor Academy’s always-available, self-paced courses model helps workers gain skills they can use on the job quickly.
Saylor Academy’s partnerships with leading colleges and universities, such as Miami-Dade College and Western Governors University, that specialize in adult higher education degree completion can further help these workers when they are ready for the next step in their careers.

Why this need?
Dr. Brian Dooreck, Executive Director of gethiredmiami, shared that as a business owner. “I know firsthand the value of a typo-free resume. Three out of four [around 76 percent of] executives interviewed said just one or two typos in a resume would remove applicants from consideration for a job; 40 percent said it takes only one typo to rule candidates out.”

About Saylor Academy
Saylor Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit initiative working since 2008 to connect students to free and affordable education. In addition to its free professional development courses, Saylor Academy has a tuition-free Direct Credit program where 33 courses have been reviewed and recommended for credit-by-exam by the American Council on Education that are that are transferable to several state-owned and non-profit universities.
