The Distance learning center in Côte d’Ivoire, called Centre d’ Education à Distance (CED-CI), is a public establishment of an industrial and commercial nature (EPIC) placed under the technical supervision of the Ministry of State, Ministry of Public Service and Modernization of the Administration (MEFFPMA).

The CED-CI is a development centre for managers and agents of public and private administrations and civil society. It was born from the joint desire of the Ivorian government and the World Bank, to improve the skills of staff for better adaptation to the job, mobility or professional promotion, through continuous training and capacity building.

In this capacity, it is responsible for:

  • Design and coordinate, with a view to meeting the needs of the public, private and parapublic sectors as well as civil society, high-level continuous and specialized training programs through the use of communication technologies;
  • Develop partnerships for the exchange of experiences between educational institutions, the Development Community and policy makers around the world;
  • Implement distance learning to ensure the sharing of knowledge necessary for development
  • Participate in prospective studies and analysis of the needs of specialized training;
  • To give people the opportunity to train in their environment without travel costs or interruption of presence at their workstation.

Centre d’Éducation à Distance de Côte d’Ivoire and Saylor Academy have partnered to offer skill development opportunities to Centre d’Éducation à Distance de Côte d’Ivoire students.
