CORE Services Group is a nonprofit human services and community development organization committed to improving the lives of the individuals and families they serve and making a difference in local communities. Founded in 2005, CORE has successfully implemented and managed a variety of programs in partnership with government agencies such as the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS), the New York City Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD), and the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). With more than 40 emergency or transitional housing settings currently in operation, they are proud to provide critical services to more than 3,000 individuals every day.
At CORE, they believe everybody deserves a fair chance to get back on their feet – and nobody can do it alone. Whether it’s a mother struggling to find a home and keep her children safe, a father returning to his family after spending years in the criminal justice system, or a runaway teenager in search of stability, they believe that structured support is the key to transformation.
These fundamental beliefs inform everything they do. Residents at CORE facilities are provided access to job or technical skills training, mentorship, substance abuse treatment, and they are treated with dignity and respect at every step of the way.
CORE also offers behavioral health services, individual case management, and permanent housing placement. Based in Brooklyn, NY, CORE currently operates transitional, emergency, and shelter facilities in New York City and Washington DC, and they are working to bring compassionate, common-sense approach to more communities in need.
