Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University (MOBOU) was established under the Act of state Assembly in 1991 to:
- Extend and expand Higher Education by reaching to the un-reached through various flexible means including Open and Distance – Learning (ODL) using emerging communications and technology.
- Determine/maintain standards and promote Distance Education via innovative technologies and methodologies.
The University delivers training and education through flexible and open distance learning. In general, the system consists of main campus activity in the form of curriculum development, generation of self learning material (SLM), preparation of assignments and extending student support services. The headquarters of the University, which manages and operates the Distance Education programmes, is situated at Raja Bhoj Marg (Kolar Road) Bhopal.
