We are pleased to welcome Cherisse Gardner, our new Manager of Instructional Design, to the Saylor Academy team.

Ms. Gardner’s deep knowledge in learning technology, educational content management, and instructional design will help to drive course and content design for Saylor Academy as we turn the corner into 2018.

“With Cherisse, I am excited to gain a fresh set of eyes and years of ID experience in one person,” says Director of Education Devon Ritter. “Gaining Cherisse as a colleague is an opportunity for everyone on our team to grow and her expertise will be key in helping us meet the evolving needs of traditional and non-traditional learners alike.”

Cherisse brings hands-on experience with Moodle, the open-source learning management system that runs our courses, and certification from Quality Matters, an international leader in quality assurance for online learning. During her career, Cherisse has worked on instructional design and learning technology initiatives at University of Maryland University College, Goodwill Industries, Gallaudet University, and most recently at George Washington University.

Our Executive Director, Jeff Davidson, captured our excitement for Cherisse joining our team:

“We are thrilled to add someone of Cherisse’s experience and talent level to our team. Her twenty-plus years of instructional design work – much of that in online education – and her Quality Matters certification will help her bring an extra dimension of excellence to our course materials.”

Please join us in welcoming Cherisse as we help build the future of higher education.
