According to a Brookings Institution report many African economies have begun to experience growth for the first time since 2016.

Countries like Angola and South Africa, two of the continents biggest economies, are positioning themselves to sustain their growth. Other countries like Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Tanzania are growing their economies at around 6 percent. Moreover, countries like Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Guinea are showing promising growth.

As a matter of fact, across the continent there are projections of economic growth between 3.1 and 3.6 percent in 2019-20.

And with growing economies comes an increased demand for jobs and skills. So, what is in-demand?

We did some research into this question, and this is what we found.

Top 10 industries/areas with projected growth:

  1. Agriculture
  2. Infrastructure
  3. Mining
  4. Service Sector
  5. Banking and Finance
  6. Information and Communication Technology
  7. Entrepreneurship
  8. Transportation and Logistics
