Goldey Beacom College and Saylor Academy partner

Saylor Academy is very pleased to announce a new partnership with Goldey-Beacom College, to provide flexible, affordable learning opportunities for current and prospective Goldey-Beacom students.

Saylor Academy is a non-profit initiative that believes that education should be accessible to anyone, anywhere, and at any time. As part of our mission, we partner with universities and colleges worldwide to help institutions broaden their reach to students and support student success, retention, and graduation efforts.

Goldey-Beacom will now accept courses for credit earned at Saylor’s innovative online credit by exam program. Students study Saylor Academy courses online at their own pace, take a comprehensive exam, and earn credit by sending a transcript to their home institutions.

Goldey-Beacom and Saylor Academy both recognize that students lead increasingly busy and complex lives. They require flexible education options to balance skill development with work and family demands.  The tuition-free aspect of Saylor’s program allows students to start, or return to, their degree completion journey with zero financial risk.

“Goldey-Beacom College is thrilled to join with Saylor Academy to help our students.  As a small college, our course offerings can be somewhat limited.  With this agreement, we hope to give our students an additional opportunity to perhaps complete a course they need when circumstances beyond their control change their plans.”

Dr. Alison Boord-White, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Goldey-Beacom College

“Saylor Academy is pleased to partner with Goldey-Beacom College, which has a strong history of providing access to nontraditional learners. More and more institutions are recognizing the value of our credit-recommend courses, giving students more opportunities to stay on track to complete their degrees without incurring additional debt.  In these uncertain economic times, the need for partnerships like ours to help keep students enrolled at their institutions to keep them on pace for  program completion is paramount as we are becoming a lifeline to many students looking to finalize degrees they may not otherwise be able to afford to finish.”

About Saylor Academy

Saylor Academy is a nonprofit initiative committed to making education accessible and affordable to all who need it.  We are doing so by creating free online courses, created by real professors with teaching experience, that people can use to learn skills and earn university-level credit.  Our courses are available for anyone to take at their own pace, and earn certificates or university credits to help them graduate or gain employment faster, and improve their and their families’ futures.

Saylor partners with a group of universities and colleges, as well as other nonprofits and organizations wishing to open access to education. We do not charge institutions to partner with us, and are always looking for like-minded organizations to expand our mission further.

Saylor Academy’s “credit-recommended” courses are recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE) for meeting university-level academic rigor.  You can view our recommendations and learn more about ACE National Guide to College Credit here.
