Saylor Academy is very pleased to announce a new collaboration with Morgan State University, to provide flexible, affordable learning opportunities for current Morgan students and those interested in pursuing a degree at Morgan.

Saylor Academy is a nonprofit initiative that believes that education should be accessible to anyone, anywhere, and at any time. As part of our mission, we partner with universities and colleges worldwide to help institutions broaden their reach to students and support student success, retention, and graduation efforts.

Morgan will now accept courses for credit earned through Saylor’s innovative online credit by exam program. Students study Saylor Academy courses, provided at no cost, online at their own pace, take a comprehensive exam, and earn credit by sending a transcript to their home institutions – without incurring any additional debt.

Morgan State University and Saylor Academy both recognize that students lead increasingly busy and complex lives. They require flexible education options to balance skill development with work and family demands.  The tuition-free aspect of Saylor’s program allows students to start, stay on track, or return to their degree completion journey with zero financial risk.

“As a native Marylander I am extra proud of our partnership with Morgan State University, a venerable 154 year old institution with a well-earned stellar international reputation. We are seeing more and more universities commit to providing flexible supplemental education options for students to complete their degrees on time by leveraging the American Council on Education (ACE) CREDIT program that ensures academic excellence among extra-collegiate course providers like Saylor.”

Jeff Davidson, Executive Director, Saylor Academy

”Morgan State University’s most important strategic goal is enhancing student success. This partnership with Saylor Academy provides a convenient new opportunity for students to earn credits while lowering the cost of completing their Morgan degree. We are excited about this opportunity to assist more of our students to cross the finish line more quickly and with less debt.”

About Saylor Academy

Saylor Academy is a nonprofit initiative committed to making education accessible and affordable to all who need it.  We are doing so by creating free online courses, created by real professors with teaching experience, that people can use to learn skills and earn university-level credit.  Our courses are available for anyone to take at their own pace, and earn certificates or university credits to help them graduate or gain employment faster, and improve their and their families’ futures.

Saylor partners with universities and colleges, as well as other nonprofits and organizations wishing to offer its students and constituents access to free courses and professional certificates We do not charge institutions to partner with us and are always looking for like-minded organizations to expand our mission further.

Saylor Academy’s “credit-recommended” courses are recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE) for meeting university-level academic rigor.  You can view our recommendations and learn more about the ACE National Guide to College Credit here.
